High School and Beyond Plan @WWO
The High School and Beyond Plan is a graduation requirement for every student. It's a process for students, parents, and teachers to guide students through high school and think about their future. Plans are personalized and designed to help students set, visualize, and work to achieve goals. A High School and Beyond Plan is one of the three components, along with Credit and Subject Area Requirements, and Graduation Pathway Options, that Washington students must complete to achieve a high school diploma.
At Walla Walla Online, students will earn their HSBP by completing a series of tasks designed to prepare them to answer the following questions:
- Who am I?, (9th grade)
- What can I become?, and (10th grade)
- How do I become that? (11th and 12th grade)
Starting their Junior year, Walla Walla Online students will choose either a Career or College-minded pathway tailored to align with their individual goal of either attending college or joining the workforce post-graduation. Whichever path they choose, every Walla Walla Online student will be tasked with exploring various careers, researching college admission standards, creating a resume, and ultimately increasing their awareness of the strengths, skills, and personality traits that make them who they are.
To compensate students for the time they are expected to give their HSBP at Walla Walla Online, students will earn 0.25 credits each year they successfully meet their HSBP expectations (totalling 1.0 elective credits by the time they graduate).
